Pair of patinated bronze figures of Atlas, after the antique. Each depicted standing with lowered heads, one supporting an Armillary sphere, the other a globe. On inscribed, ebonized and stepped pedestals. France, second half of the 20th century, The Latin inscriptions on the plinths are quotes from Pliny the Elder’s Natural History, Vols. 1 and 2.
